How Often Do You Need an Eye Exam?

The Alberta Association of Optometrists recommends an eye exam every 1–2 years for adults 20–64 years old. People 65 and above should have an eye exam once a year to get full support for maintaining clear vision and detecting age-related eye conditions early.

People affected by diabetes, hypertension, or glaucoma may need more frequent eye exams. We’ll work around your unique needs to help you find the right time frame.

We Treat Different Eye Conditions & Diseases

While you’re here, we meticulously screen for a range of conditions, from dry eyes to more complex eye diseases and conditions. With a focus on your comfort and well-being, we guide you through each step to help you understand the significance of every test and diagnosis.

Your health and well-being are our top priority. Let’s work together to manage the conditions that may be affecting your eyes and daily life.

Dry Eye

You deserve relief from the discomfort of dry eyes. Whether your symptoms are caused by insufficient tear production or excessive tear evaporation, our team is dedicated to providing effective solutions.

Approximately 30% of Canadians experience dry eye issues, and we understand the importance of finding relief. From redness and blurry vision to stinging or burning sensations, we can address your unique symptoms with personalized care.

You deserve to enjoy life without the distraction of dry eyes. Let us help you regain comfort and clarity in your vision.

We can help rediscover clarity with our tailored solutions for presbyopia. This condition typically emerges between the ages of 40 and 45 and can make it hard to focus on objects up close.

We understand the frustration that presbyopia can cause—from difficulty reading to eye fatigue and headaches. With our patient-centered approach, we can offer personalized solutions to help you see clearly.

Let us guide you towards clear vision for every moment.

Keratoconus can be a challenging condition to deal with. Routine eye care can help you manage its effects on your vision and lifestyle.

This condition, characterized by a bulging, cone-shaped cornea, can cause blurred vision and heightened sensitivity to light and glare. It typically first appears during a person’s late teens and early 30s. Keratoconus may impact both eyes, but it can also affect 1 eye more than the other.

Our comprehensive eye exams can help detect and monitor keratoconus early on. With our expertise and personalized approach, we can offer tailored solutions to help you see clearly based on your eyes and vision needs.

We understand the impact of common eye diseases on your vision and overall well-being. Cataracts can cloud your vision, while glaucoma can silently steal your sight. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) threatens central vision, and flashes and floaters can signal retinal issues. For people dealing with diabetes, diabetic retinopathy can also be a serious concern.

Our team is committed to early detection and personalized management of these conditions. We value your health, and we’re here to help preserve and protect your sight.

OCT Screening for Eye Diseases

During eye exams, we use modern diagnostic technology and techniques like OCT (optical coherence tomography) to screen for diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. OCT scanning can provide high-resolution images of your retina, allowing for early detection and precise monitoring of these conditions.

By capturing detailed images of the eye’s internal structures, OCT enables our team to detect subtle changes in your eye that may indicate the onset or progression of glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other eye conditions.
